I'll be choosing books from this stack:
I was a little disappointed to discover how hard it is to find these titles available digitally from the library --- yes, I'm one of those readers who prefers a digital copy (my apologies to book lovers). I'm going to add to the movement #WeNeedMoreDiverseBooks---Digitally!
Last year I read 14 of 48 hours. My goal is to try to surpass that time which may be tricky, but I am going to give it a try. Here we go. My start time is 9:30.
This year I will be trying a new app to keep track of my reading time. I will be using Read Up to record my titles and times. On your mark, get set, go!
I was able to get a fair number of culturally diverse books from Netgalley, but not a lot of middle eastern books. I did like The Garden of My Imaan, and there is an excellent one coming out soon about a Muslim boy in Florida right after 9/11 called Just a Drop of Water by Cerra. Very good! Have fun reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these new titles. I look forward to checking them out.

I like digital copies too!
ReplyDeleteThose are some really wonderful choices. I have the Malala book now, but didn't include it in my list. I also liked The Garden of My Imaan (and another good book is My Basmati Bar Mitvah)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
More great titles!
DeleteThanks.
I hope you read "Girl Who Fell to Earth"! It looks great and I'm eager to see what you think. I just added it to my Goodreads shelf. Thanks for the heads-up about its existence!

What a great booklist! I loved Deep in the Sahara -- one of my favorite picture books this year.
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, I will now want a little crash course on Read Up when I see you this week. How do you keep all your digital tools straight?!!
ReplyDeleteYour reading list looks wonderful. This is probably the least I have ever read on the 48 Hour Challenge weekend. I will cheer your progress instead, and just read when I can.
Thanks, Karen. Unfortunately I should have thought a little more about my weekend which was filled with graduation parties and family responsibilities. I'm afraid I only managed a disappointing 6 hours. Still, I did squeeze in a little reading time and found some great books to add to my list. Lots of reading time coming my way.
