Today's the Day: 10 Books That Demonstrate We're Better Together #pb10for10

Today's the day!  Today is our 9th annual August Picture Book 10 for 10 event (here's a little history).  On this day each year, educators, parents, media specialist, and picture book lovers around the globe share ten picture books they just can't live without in the coming school year.  If you'd like to share your favorites, or just check out the books that are being shared this year, please stop by our #pb10for10 Google Community and check out the Twitter hashtag #pb10for10.  Thanks to Mandy Robek of Enjoy and Embrace Learning for helping to kick off the new school year with this great event each year.

    I'm thinking of Pete and Pickles, Pink and Say, and The Uncorker of Ocean Bottles. Lovely, lovely list!

    Love this collection. I don't know NEITHER or TOGETHER, and I forgot about STICK AND STONE, even though it's in my library. One that might fight into this collection-AMANDA PANDA AND THE BIGGER BETTER BIRTHDAY PARTY. A kindergartener gets her nose out of joint because her best friend is one day older than she is, and then the two discover their birthday party is on the same day. A great book about compromise and problem solving with friends! And funny besides.

    This is definitely a wonderful theme. I would add Yak and Dove by Kyo Mclear and That Neighbor Kid by Daniel Miyares to this list.
